HKVCC – Participating Organisation of Hong Kong Summit

HKVCC was one of the participating organisations of the Hong Kong Summit organized by The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 11 July 2012. With the theme of “regional co-operation between Hong Kong and East Asia”, the Summit was held to bring together ministerial-level officials from the Mainland China and other East Asian countries, senior officials from the HKSAR Government, leading entrepreneurs and specialist scholars from home and various East Asian countries to analyze the latest development of the East Asian region, while exploring the prospects for economic partnership, the opportunities of regional business co-operation, as well as Hong Kong’s role in promoting regional co-operation.

Vice-Chairman Tung Chee-hwa of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying of the Government of the HKSAR, Deputy Director Guo Li of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, and Commissioner Song Zhe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony.

Attendees all came away with a clearer picture of both the short-term and long-term prospects of the East Asian economies, helping them take the lead in capturing the opportunities that will arise with the integrated regional development in East Asia.
